Puppy Scents Meets Future Authors and Artists!

What a blast!  Don Kaleta, Author and Helen Habel, Illustrator of Puppy Scents, The Kids’ Guide to Puppy Care, and Mindy Kaleta, of Kaleta Publishing were invited to visit Rushville Middle School to talk about the writing and illustrating process.  The kids had so many great questions that we ran out of time before being able to answer them all!

There were six classes of 5th and 6th graders of 325 kids! We were inspired with their enthusiasm, interest and passion as Don and Helen shared the steps and experiences they had while putting Puppy Scents together.

Mindy Kaleta touched on Roc’s Mision of Be Kind, Be Fit, Be Me and passed out the The Puppy Scents Promise sheets, writsbands and tattoos to all!  It was great to meet the kids as they picked up their gifts from Roc and talk to them about their writing and artistic aspirations!

Thank you Rushville Middle School teachers, staff and students and especially Mrs. Denise Schoonover for helping us feel so welcome!
